Did I go to the Pope's funeral in Rome?
Saturday, April 09, 2005
I know what you
are asking yourself: "Did he go to Pope John Paul II's
funeral in Rome?" with the many other Poles who did.
Well, you should know me by now and that I hardly ever do
what is expected of me. So, obviously the answer is
"no". I didn't go to Rome because my Mother's
funeral was just a few weeks before the Pope died and I
am still in mourning.

My
Mother. She died in a Catholic nursing home in Krakow,
Poland on Feb. 27, 2005 at the age of 92.
She was the only person who really loved me, whom I could
always turn to and depend on.
The
Great Pope's death marks an end of an era. I was greatly
moved by the news of it because he was a lot like my
parents were; especially like my Father. My Parents had
some mutual friends with the Pope and my Uncle Franek
knew him very well from the theological seminary he
attended. He was in the same class with Karol Wojtyla,
became a good friend of his and met with him on his
visits to Krakow, Poland.

I found that Allysse Wojtanek-Watson, my distant relative (my last name is Wojtanek) from Colorado got into some trouble
for singing a Dylan antiwar song. Read all about it. Here

Why I
haven't been on the Net for a while
Tuesday, February 01, 2005
There are several reasons
why I haven't been very active on the Net lately. One is
because I am having problems with my Domains and hosting
services. Another one is because I have been looking
after my 92 years old Mother for the past few months. She
is in and out of hospital and quickly slipping away from
this world.
But please don't
let that get you down. I just want you guys to know that
I'm still hanging in there; though not so visible for a
while.
We are one with
God, the Universe and the Earth through our Mothers.
Everyone has one. And every child loves the Mother most
no matter how wicked or how distant she may have been.

The
Philosophy
of Contraction and Expansion
Monday, December 06, 2004
Many hippies believe in
communal life or communism. On the other hand, many of
those same guys are selling whatever they can and
whenever they can on streets, markets, websites or at
gatherings. I always thought there was a lack of a
coherent philosophical backbone in the movement. It seems
that when it boils down to the basics of survival
capitalism rules. And when it comes to getting help from
others socialism or communism takes over. Hippies have a
flimsy approach to materialism and to socialism because
the majority of them are somewhere in the meddle between
them. That's why I have developed over the years my
Hippie Philosophy that I also call The Philosophy of
Contraction and Expansion. It explains how this type of
behavior is totally in agreement with the laws of Nature
throughout the Universe.
Talking about communism... I met some guys from the
Ukraine a week or two ago and they said that Ben Laden is
in Byelorussia (how's that for being desperate). Maybe he
too is incorporating some communism into his life at a
time of strife. (What are they paying those guys at the
NSA and CIA for anyway when people in Europe are talking
about stuff like that on the streets yet those guys don't
seem to know where the dude's at?)

American
Methanol Culture
Tuesday, November 07, 2004
On BBC World
Report today I saw a program about American wine grapes
grown illegally in Spain. Wine produced from them is also
illegal in Europe and growing American grapes in Spain
and other parts of Europe has been illegal since 1930s. A
French wine expert claimed in the program that those
grapes have too much methanol and could cause people to
go insane. And it struck me that there must be something
to it because the American people are the most insane
people in the world and that's why many of us love them.
It's also worth mentioning that much of American culture
is a product of immigrants from gloomy Slav countries.
They were people such as Gershwin, Irwing, Berlin,
Rubinstain, Sikorski (invented the helicopter), Andy
Warhol, Zappa, Sony Bono etc. who probably influenced by
American wine dreamt up insane ideas that formed the
modern American culture. They brought about awareness of
racial and social injustices at a time when it was
unthinkable to do so, shaped the media, entertainment,
technology (a Russian immigrant, who was the President of
NBC invented Television) and many other things that we
identify with the American culture.

That is
how divided we were in the 60s
Tuesday, November 06, 2004
So, Virginia (from
Virgin?) voted for Bush. When we look at the map of the states that supported Kerry
and Bush we can plainly see where the hippie centers were
in the sixties. And they were mainly concentrated on the
West Coast, the East Coast and in the Midwest, the heart
of the United States - in and around Chicago. We often
forget that not all of the US is like the intellectual
centers that create and animate the culture of our
country. Most of it are rural folks that have little
interest in the rest of the world. That is the way it was
in the 60s and that is the way it is still. Also a
similar pattern seems to be repeating itself where more
sensitive people are beginning to move to Canada. In the
60s many Americans moved to Canada mostly to avoid the
draft. I would have done that too had I not been able to
go for a while to Europe instead. By the way, in case if
you would like to know my favorite Presidents were JFK,
Carter, Regan (yes, I know) and Clinton. But especially
Carter, who ended the war, the draft and gave guys like
me/us an amnesty.

What a
May!
Tuesday, November 03, 2004
Well, it's time
to wake up from this election Maya that we held so much
hope with. The man whom we called "Anything better
then Bush" looses. What now? Who knows. Maybe
another "Gate" or something or other like that.
We'll have to wait and see how this soap opera evolves.
There are many other nations in the world who have
survived threw many worse things. So, let's no get too
depressed and hang in there. Anyhow, this is pretty much
like it was during the Vietnam War when the country was
also divided so much. But, this time the divisions seem a
bit more even, though. Let's just hope there will be a
happy ending to all of this though, because most of us
don't like melodramas too much.

Good
news for a change!
Tuesday, November 02, 2004
The FSIANCIA (Former
Soviet Intelligence Agents Network Command Information
Agency) has leaked some information about the election.
They say that Tennessee GIs are voting for Kerry. I hope
those agents are right. They also say that the whole
state is going that way and the long lines at the polls
show how much the country has come closer to the East.
One of them even commented "It's almost like being
back home in Moscow. If not for the good Executive job I
have with the NSA (No Such Agency) I would be there now
with my real family and kids". Ye, I really feel
sorry for those guys, if you know what I mean. But the
news is very promising. We'll see what happens before
discrediting those stool pigeons once and for all.

The last
Kerry Supporters Meetup
in the Capitol of Poland.
Sunday, October 31, 2004
The election is
just a few days away. I am glad that the election results
will not depend on the Polish people in Poland. If they
did I would be packing and running. I was the only guy
who showed up for the last Meetup and felt like a dork
sitting at the table alone waiting for someone to show up.
Even my friends have distanced themselves from me before
the election. My future in Poland will look very bleak if
Kerry doesn't win. So I will be really praying and having
faith in the wisdom of the voters.

Try to
figure this one out!
Saturday, October 30, 2004
Things are so
weird in today's world that I am unable to follow them. I
just saw the newly released Ben Laden tape on BBC World
where at the key moment of the Presidential election he
threatens with new attacks. Also, after all those years,
he admits to have masterminded the 9/11 attacks. By doing
so he strengthens the Bush campaign, and I am sure that
he must know that. I think I'm just too old, but would it
be possible that those two guys are somehow connected?
Why is it that in spite of all this modern equipment,
technology, satellites that could track every one of us,
read the newspaper fine print, find targets in the dark,
eavesdrop on all forms of communication and our private
conversations etc. there is almost no progress threw all
those years in locating the real enemy? Would it be about
money, power and oil? And isn't it true that a crises
draws people closer; especially around a strong leader?
And hasn't it been said that a war is a big business? I
hope I am just too old and mistaken, but those thoughts
must flash across many of our minds. This also reminds me
of Johnson, another President from Texas who was also at
the center of another mysterious national tragedy that
hasn't been solved, yet.

Today's
BBC TV "Hard Talk" Interview
Friday, October 29, 2004
In today's BBC
TV interview on "Hard Talk" Graydon Carter, the
Editor of Vanity Fair said that the Patriot Act will
probably be with us for a long time. He also said "The
Patriot Act brought us closer to what it was like in Iraq
before we went in there". I think that sums up the
situation very well. It is often said that the war in
Iraq is like Vietnam. In my opinion it is a lot worse.
The Vietnam war did not pose a national threat and it did
not take many liberties away from the citizens. The
reason for the mass we are witnessing now are wrong
decisions made by the wrong leader(s). When there is a
fire one does not try to blow it out or fight it with
fire because it will spread even more. A fire can be
extinguished effectively only with an opposite
neutralizing agent. Besides that, Iraq did not pose much
of a threat to our nation before the war. And now it has
turned into a full blown forest fire that has gone way
out of control.
-
What could be done to repair the problem?
- What could be done to give back to America the good
name it had in the past?

Summing
Up the Big Event
Thursday, October 28, 2004
The only John Kerry
Supporters Meetup in Poland is over and it turned out to
be a complete flop. Out of the 17 persons that signed up
for the Meetup only I, its Organizer showed up. I have to
honestly say that if the election was held in Poland
today it would be Bush that would win by a landslide.
However, knowing the people here as well as I do I am
confident that when Kerry wins the election everyone here
will say that they would have supported him but for one
reason or another they couldn't. People here like to do
what is correct. When it will be correct to support him
or to show him the finger they will do just that. But no
sooner then that. And that's why I feel out of place here.
The situation with my local Hippie and Rainbow Family
Meetups is even worse. Only one person has signed up so
far and it probably is a dick from the fuzz. That's why I
think I'm just going to give it up.

Web
Artist
Thursday, October 28, 2004
I am a Web Artist. What
that means is that I am who I am on the Web but for one
reason or another I don't look as well in person as I do
on the Net. In fact my situation is so bad right now that
I am running behind with my rent and other bills. And
what's worse, I have the last John Kerry Supporters
Meetup to attend to this evening that I am the official
organizer of in Poland and don't have enough money to buy
myself a coffee at the fast food restaurant where I have
organized the meeting. And this is the most important one
because it is the last before the election. I am also
afraid that I may not be there because I don't want
people looking down into my soul and seeing me in this
condition. As I have been told, my websites look good and
I am very proud of that. That really is the only
successful thing I've got going right now and which is
keeping my self-confidence up. But God alone knows how
much it really cost. Guess, others have their own genetic
replicas in their children. My digital replica is in my
Web pages and Web sites. Now, the question arises "Why
do I do it"? Am I addicted? Have I lost my mind? Or
what? I don't know the answer why I or others such as I
have put almost everything aside for a few years, had
even gone threw periods of sleep deprivation and even
impoverishment just to build websites and other nonprofit
or minimum profit services on the Net. In my case I think
it's because the Internet has providen to be an artistic
medium for me and a certain category of artists who find
themselves well in it. And ever since I started studding
computer programming in 1980 first thought and doing
anything on the Net, the that came to mind was of using
it as a spiritual and an artistic toolInternet is being .
In my opinion, the destroyed by those who have turned it
into a big supermarketthose . Of course, it's good to
have all goods and services available at ones fingertips
as long as the business side of the Internet will stop
dictating conditions to those, who are there not for the
money but for the people, humanities and art.

Max Van
Sydov
Saturday, October 02, 2004
I just saw an old movie with
Max Van Sydov in the main role. He played the role of an
evil Count who came to a small town and turned its
residents against each other. I could swear that Mr.
Sydov was my neighbor's twin brother. My neighbor's
Zodiac sign is a Bull but I don't know Mr. Sydow's Zodiac
sign but could swear that he is probably a Bull too. It's
incredible how Mr. Sidov resembles my neighbor physically
and psychically.
I also know a handsome 20 year old Capricorn hacker-cracker
guy who in many ways resembles Boris Karlov... I wonder
what does it all mean? Well you know, this part of Europe
is like a never ending The Adams Family TV series. And I
should now because my real name is Adam and this is my
family's homeland.
I still don't understand why people in Poland think I'm
some kind of Wizard or a sage. People expects me to be an
example to follow; some kind of role model. Guess they
never had an Elvis Presley here or Bill Hailey and The
Comments, The Beatles or a real antiestablishment
movement like the hippie movement. I wanna be like Keith
Richards and not like the Pope, if you know what I mean.
And whenever I do anything that does not fit that mold
the natives wanna throw the book at me or burn me at the
stake. I can't take it any more but I can't afford to
leave either because I'm broke and have been looking for
a job way too long. What a creepy trap! But then again,
if I come out of this jam alright I may still stay here
anyway. Probably because when I look around the world it
seems that there are problems in almost every part of the
it. So, where could I moving to? Where could I find some
peace and quiet? That is the question.
